Privacy Policy — Mobile App

This policy explains how the Taking Care of Mom and Dad mobile app (the “app”) handles information. In short: the app collects almost nothing. It does not collect your name, email, location, contacts, or photos, it does not track your behavior, it does not use advertising networks or analytics, and it does not sell or share your data. The only technical identifier involved is a Firebase push-notification token, described below.

Who we are

The app is provided by Taking Care of Mom and Dad, LLC. You can reach us through takingcareofmomanddad.org.

What we collect

Device token. A unique identifier generated by Firebase Cloud Messaging (a Google service) that is used solely to deliver push notifications to your device. This token is not tied to your name, email, or any personal information.

What we do NOT collect

We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, photos, or any personal data.
We do not track your behavior inside the app.
We do not use advertising networks or analytics tracking.
We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

Push notifications

If you grant notification permission, your device token is stored securely on our server and used only to send you app notifications. You can revoke notification permission at any time in your device settings, and you can turn notifications off without affecting the rest of the app.

Data retention

Your device token is retained for as long as you have the app installed. If you uninstall the app, the token becomes inactive and is no longer used.

Third-party services

Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) is used to deliver push notifications. Firebase may process your device token in accordance with Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
YouTube API Services are used to display video content. Your use of that content is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service (youtube.com/t/terms) and Google’s privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
TikTok videos are displayed as embedded content in the app and on our website. When TikTok content loads, TikTok may collect data in accordance with its own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (tiktok.com/legal/privacy-policy).

Children’s privacy

The app is intended for adult family caregivers. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can turn off notifications at any time in your device settings, and you can uninstall the app to stop all use of the device token. If you live in a region with additional privacy rights (such as California or the European Union) and have a question or request, please contact us and we will respond.
